When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord he makes even his enemies be at peace with him Prov16
David was a man after my own heart. He was a simple shepherd content with sitting on a hill writing songs for his Lord. He didn't ride around in a tour bus chasing fame and fortune. He sang his heart out on an empty hill where no one but God could hear him. Who would know that those same psalms would stand through out time as a soothing sauve. He had the simplicity that is in Christ. We are here to glorify Christ not for Christ to glorify us. If I sit back and wait for God to bring the glory then I can't be focusing on glorifying God.
Our actions and thoughts become counter productive. An erosion takes place and in the end I am far from the place of glorifying. I know this too well because for eight years I did not write one word of praise. If we chase material things or fame and fortune then we are seeking the message of the world. These are all subtle sub titles that satan uses to pull us away. It really boils down to
Did I do the things you ask?
Did I move when You said go.
Did I release all of my material things?
Or was my answer no?
For me, what it as come down to is If it does not have God's hand print on it I don't wnt it. If I don't hear His voice I'll reject it.
Just give me the simple things in life
not the grand or the grandios.
Just the simple things of life
that is what i shall boast.
Just search my reched empty heart oh Lord
and please help me to see.
When all is said and all is done
It is just about You and me.
