The Power Of The Angels

Go ye into all the world Mark 16:15

The entire office crew was down at the local pub and things started to get stupid. The table was lined with shots of purple people eaters. They knew better than to ask me to join in. I gave them the " You've got to be kidding me" look and not a word was said.Not one dart of foolish peer pressure was sent my way. They have seen me come late and leave early at these gatherings. All of my actions have come to a creshendo of being in the world but not of the world.

Not one of them realize the under current of my actions. When people drink they drop their bravado and their swagger disappears. Inhibitions slide off the table and drop to the floor. Real life hurts and real life concerns are expressed freely as I am elbow to elbow with them. I am in the world and in their lives. I have known other Christians that think it wrong to be in a bar. But we are overcomers, not conformed to this world, unspotted from and able to deny desires of the world. We are the light of , sent into and chosen out of the world. By His power and not mine I can be there.

The moment I hear an anxious cry I am on it. I observe the circumstance, gather the pain and take them home to an over flowing prayer box. Behind closed doors I let loose the power of the angels and pray that one day my God will be their God.

Jesus, sweet Jesus
You are the risen Son.
You are the answer to our troubles
You are the only one.

The days that I grow weary
Of praying on my knee's,
Come to me with thunder
And remind me of the need.
