God's Way Is The Right Way

Hear O sons the instructions of the Father and give attention that you may gain understanding.Proverbs 4:11

One thing I have come to realize is that following God requires change. Sometimes so major that we refuse to move when He makes it blatantly clear. I remember when my sister and brother-in-law came storming back to Minnesota. They had no job. They didn't have any money but they just knew it was God's leading. They packed their truck so full of things that if one thing moved it would all come tumbling out. And talk about a witness for Jesus Christ. The wooden slats on the truck had plastered messages all over that sang the sweet song of redemption from California to home. Boy, did we get the looks as we flashed them the one way sign. They came back and cuddled our family in their loving arms and knit us back together.

Let's face it, we have to stick our neck out when we follow God's leading. We have to take risks.
But, along with the risks comes the reward. God is happy when we dedicate ourselves to Him. When we pray Lord show me what You want me to do and He shows you it is best to follow even if it isn't the answer you want.

Following God's way as a single man is hard. Being single is tough. The world says go find someone, anyone so you won't be alone. I won't be satisfied with just having someone I want THE One. I will wait for the one that is in tune with Christ. Whose soul rejoices in the Lord. The one whose love language is Christ. Having someone that I can go to church with is not enough. Having someone to pray with is not enough. God's word says, And my soul shall rejoice in the Lord, it shall exalt in His salvation. Psalm 35:9 God's love is like a fountain that flows everyday. Although we all come thirsty we never leave that way. So I look for the one that wants to taste the living water in her soul.

So I wait for not just someone. I wait for the one that wants God to be a part of their life moment by moment. Not just on Sunday. Not just on Monday but moment by moment. He is ever present. He deserves this type of relationship and so do we.

May I rest in Your selection.
